Pastures Farm is a traditionally run family farm situated in the heart of Northamptonshire, adjacent to the historic Castle Ashby Estate. The farmhouse itself is relatively new, having been built early in the early 1980's. (Where has the time gone?). As explained on the Home Page it has been the home of John and Debbie Skinner and their three sons for the past 28 years, and it has witnessed a wide variety of activities, some of which have been successful and others which have not been so successful. The fields are a mix of arable and grass fields some of which are owned and others which are rented. The farm is fortunate enough to include a variety of environments; there is the River Nene which, passing through meadowland, has become an increasingly busy thoroughfare for canal boats and walkers especially during the summer months.

Reedbeds are extremely important as they provide a valuable habitat for plants, insects and birds, including the rare and secretive bittern.
