There has been a huge amount of creativity going on down here at Pastures Farm over recent weeks which has been a real delight to witness.
The flurry of workshops kicked off about three weeks ago when Sue Kirk returned after her summer break to run a trug making workshop which was amazingly successful. Each member of the group managed to create a totally stunning, sturdy and rustic looking trug in just one day – which was a huge achievement. The hard work certainly involved a degree of concentration but everyone’s efforts paid off. From what I understand several of these trugs have already been put to very good use – for harvesting and foraging – excellent news! Just one week later, Sue was back and this time the team created a fabulous gaggle of geese. It was amazing to see how each willow goose very much developed its own definite personality. They all looked amazing when they were gathered together in a gaggle before setting off in different directions to their new homes. Again two or three have already been placed in their new gardens and courtyards ,and I have it on good authority look very good.
Finally yesterday – Christmas came very early indeed. The balmy weather conditions meant that our entire Christmas wreaths and centre pieces workshop was run outside in the fresh air all day! Katy did a marvellous job once again showing our team how to create some amazing wreaths and door rings for Christmas as well as some really beautiful centre pieces which would be ideal for festive feasts. Check out the gallery section to see some of the amazing creations.
Next week –Katy is back again – for a repeat performance.
